League Demo Guide

What Is the Demo?

The Demo League is a fully self-contained sandbox environment generated instantly from your Admin Dashboard. It is designed to let you explore every feature of Pickleball League Hub — groups, matches, standings, knockout brackets, and more — without touching any real data.

The demo uses pre-seeded fictional players and is completely private to your account. No other users can see or interact with it.

Tip: If you are new to the platform, generate the demo with Pre-score all matches checked. You will immediately see a complete tournament from group stage all the way through to a champion.

What Gets Created

When you click Generate Demo League, the system creates the following in seconds:

Item Details
Demo League A private league named [Demo] Pickleball League - #######. Visible only to you.
Tournament 1 tournament — Mixed Doubles, 4.0 skill level, using the game rules you selected.
Players 80 demo players (40 male + 40 female), all pre-approved as league members and tournament registrants.
Groups 4 group-stage groups (A, B, C, D), each with 10 mixed-doubles teams.
Teams 40 teams total — each team is a male + female pair.
Matches Full round-robin schedule generated for each of the 4 groups.
Knockout Bracket Quarterfinals, Semifinals, 3rd Place match, and Final — generated automatically if Pre-score is enabled.
Demo players are shared system-wide (they belong to no real account) and are never deleted when you remove your demo league.

Demo Options

Before generating the demo you can configure the following settings. These settings mirror the real tournament options so you can see exactly how they affect results.

Match Format
  • Single Game — one game to the selected points limit.
  • Best of Three — first team to win 2 games wins the match (default).
Points to Win
  • 11 points — standard pickleball (default).
  • 15 points — medium game.
  • 21 points — extended game.
Win By
  • Win by 2 — must win by a 2-point margin (default).
  • Win by 1 — win at exactly the target score.
Standings Calculation
  • Match Wins — rank by number of matches won (default).
  • Point % — rank by total points scored as a percentage of points played.

Pre-Score All Matches

When this option is checked (default), the system automatically generates realistic scores for every match, advances the top 2 teams from each group into the knockout bracket, and plays through all rounds to produce a final champion.

Leave it unchecked if you want to enter scores manually, experience the match entry workflow, and control who advances to the bracket yourself.

How to Generate

  1. Go to your Admin Dashboard.
  2. Click the Generate Demo League button in the top-right corner of the page.
  3. In the dialog that appears, choose your preferred game rules and whether to pre-score all matches.
  4. Click Generate Demo League to confirm. The system will create everything in a few seconds.
  5. You will be redirected to your new demo league where you can immediately start exploring.
Only one demo league is allowed per account at a time. If you already have one, the button will say Delete Demo League instead.

Exploring the Demo

Here are the areas worth exploring once your demo is generated:

Group Stage

Open any of the 4 groups to see round-robin matches, current scores, and live standings. Try editing a score to see standings update instantly.

Standings

Visit the Standings page from the tournament to see rankings across all groups. Switch the standings calculation method to compare Match Wins vs. Point %.

Knockout Bracket

If you generated with pre-scoring enabled, the Quarterfinal, Semifinal, 3rd Place, and Final groups are all present. See how the bracket advances after each round.

Player List

Browse the full player roster on the tournament's Player List page. All 80 demo players are registered and approved.

Champion & Medals

If pre-scored, a champion and medal winners are automatically assigned. Visit the Tournament Details page to see the final results banner.

Manual Score Entry

If you generated without pre-scoring, try entering match scores manually. Click on any match to open the score entry form and see standings recalculate.

Deleting & Starting Fresh

When you are done exploring, you can delete the demo league and generate a new one with different settings at any time:

  1. Go to your Admin Dashboard.
  2. Click Delete Demo League in the top-right corner.
  3. Confirm the deletion in the dialog.
  4. The Generate Demo League button will reappear, ready for a fresh run.
Deleting the demo removes the league, tournament, groups, teams, and matches. Demo player accounts are not deleted — they are shared system resources.

Limitations

  • Only one demo league is allowed per account at a time.
  • The demo league is private — real players cannot join or see it.
  • Demo players cannot log in — they are fictional seeded accounts used only to populate the demo.
  • The demo always uses Mixed Doubles at 4.0 skill level. Custom formats are not available in the demo.
  • The demo is intended for learning and exploration only — it does not count toward any real league statistics.
